USA Integration

Our program enables overseas nurses to be integrated smoothly into the US healthcare setting and mainstream US culture. The arose from personal experiences, sometimes traumatic, of fellow Overseas nurses as they embarked on a new country and unchartered territory as a new clinician in the American healthcare setting. And from research and common observations among US hospital/nurse administrators on the lack of clinical preparation among Overseas nurses, notwithstanding their limited experience in advance assessment and critical thinking skills, thus requiring longer orientation and adjustment periods.

On the US healthcare setting, the training / orientation covers case presentations, demonstrations, lectures and hands-on clinical skills training on BCLS. clinical assessment. patient safety, documentation, and advance clinic topics comparable to those given to US nurses. Acculturate also offers non-clinical modules such as assertiveness training, conflict resolution and delegation skills, typically taught in a lecture format followed by intense role-playing.

Since the nurses will be spending most of their time outside of the hospitals (i.e., neighborhood, shopping center, recreation center, church, bank) we also orient them on cultural sensitivity and diversity, and personality development.

After training with us, the Overseas nurse is transformed to a clinically competent, confident, and a well rounded person, much like a cocoon becoming a vibrant butterfly ready to do its mission.
